Meet Kody
Kody was someone who people just immediately felt was special. Just being around him, there was a light an energy that made him so easy to talk to, so easy to love. He was an avid reader, a nature lover, a constant daydreamer, a lover of cats, and a gamer who loved getting lost in a world that wasn’t his. But what most people didn’t see was that he struggled with depression.
He was often lost in the books, the games, because being in the world was unbearable. The beautiful glow that others saw, wasn’t something that he felt himself. Kody didn’t see himself as unique and special. He listened to voices in his head that told him that he was worthless, that he was bringing people down, that he had to lie to everyone to be liked, that he couldn’t be the person that he really was because he would be rejected.
No one will ever know the real Kody, because he chose to end his life. Immersed in the nature that he loved, he left this world behind, seeking for an end to the pain. The world lost someone who made a difference, someone who was an amazing friend, caring uncle, and positive force for good in the world. It is our loss, that he was unable to continue walking among us.
